VA Veteran Justice and Jail Outreach Workers

The VA employs Veteran Justices Staff called Veteran Justice Outreach Workers (VJOs) and Jail Outreach Workers (JOWs) that help veterans with alternative sentencing.

VJOs and JOWs can visit veterans in jail.
-
They can verify veteran status & benefits, get records, arrange treatment, and provide other services.
-
Attorneys, family members, and others, can also contact them for assistance with veteran cases.
